DYKE YOGA's MISSION STATEMENT
I am one dyke living in Portland, Oregon who believes in bringing embodiment practices such as yoga and mediation to my queer community so that we can thrive. I believe in celebrating diversity; in questioning mainstream paradigms; and creating spaces where folks can move deeper into their own physical and emotional bodies because they feel they are seen. Welcome to Dyke Yoga!
I started teaching yoga in New York City at Sankalpah Yoga studio after receiving my first certification at Laughing Lotus Yoga, NYC. I completed my Advanced Teacher Training with Annie Carpenter in Los Angeles in June 2012; and continued to assist Annie's classes through 2013. I seek to teach classes that are body positive; queer-affirming; trans-positive; and anti-racist. In many ways, I am very much a beginner here, but I am open to dialogue, discussion and feedback. One of the biggest things I will always look at is how I can make this a viable, thrivable business; and still allow folks with smaller incomes to access this work.
